Great work! Interesting look for the "fluff" since it looks now less than a cloud (at least in my opinion). Also a great job on the shading!
But what are the white lines around the "fluff"? Looks like you left your outlines in ;P

thank you! hahaha I think I made it look a lot more like the wool on sheep? and those aren't outlines xD they're like strands of.....fur? (now that I think of it those lines don't make sense HAHAHA birds don't have hair...) cuz you know how hair isn't just a shape on your head and there are stands sticking out? I thought adding the lines helped give it a bit more of a messy feel :P

Well since Altaria is fiction wool is possible instead of "cloud feathers". And maybe you should have been able to see the end of the strands to realize what they are. Often the fact that you know what it is supposed to be makes it appear pretty different for you :) Got that "phenomenon" sometimes as well ;P

yeah that's true!! ^^ that's the beauty of art ;) being able to transform things into another thing :P

and again, that's also true :) the optical illusion xD although it might be due to poor skills in showing what i want to show...so i'll do my best to improve and eliminate that!! :D

Ohhh, that looks so beautiful! :iconsobeautifulplz: I love that lineless style you got going on here. The fluff is especially nice to look at; it's very stylized, too! 03

I really love that painting brush too. :iconloveloveplz: What kind of brush did you use, in which program? I wish I could learn how to paint this way, it's such a beautiful look and style! Yescrying

ahhh, thank you so much ;u;

I used the marker tool (with rough flat texture) and the pen tool (with middle flat point) on Paint Tool Sai! :D painting like this takes tons of time but it's fun beyond words xD so go try it when you can! :D

You're welcome~ Llama Emoji-60 (Snug or Hug) [V3]

Ahh, I'm a Mac user, so unfortunately Sai isn't available to me. Llama Emoji-17 (Sweating) [V1] Hmmm, but this is interesting, about the pen tool! I know many artists use the Pen Tool for linearts, but I don't think I've really seen it being used for painting/coloring. Llama Emoji-14 (Say Cheese) [V1]  Tell me, would you happen to have a tutorial on it somewhere? I'm always looking for new ways to shade and color~ Llama Emoji-22 (Waving) [V1]

oh no! but i heard fire alpaca for mac is free and kinda like SAI? :)

hahaha i always use the pen tool for my cell-shaded work :P i like the solidity of the lines! and sometimes the other brush or marker tools have that blending feature which mess up some parts i didn't want to touch :s unfortunately, i don't have a tutorial! xD my shading style etc is still all over the place, i dont think i could come up with a good tutorial tho :(

imo, the best ways to learn shading is #1: experimenting with all the brush types! and #2: watch livestreams!! or like painting processes on youtube or smthn. i find these the most helpful :D

Yeah, I have a friend who mentioned FireAlpaca. I tried it, but idk, it doesn't... seem... as solid? As PS. :iconrejectedplz: Idk if maybe I'm just too used to my PS setup or what. :icononionxdplz:

Hahah, my art is all over the place. :iconsighingplz: So don't worry, lol. You seem to be on a much better track than I am!

Mostly when I experiment I feel like I find things by complete and utter fluke, and when I go to do it again, I can't reproduce it. :iconorzplz: Even if I save the brush and stuff, it just... never comes out the same. :iconaloneplz:

And watching sometimes help, but... idk. :icongivingupplz: I think I'm one of those people who have a reeeeeeeeeeeeally specific way of learning the arts, and it's not anything conventional. :iconsighingplz: Like, tutorials usually don't help me at all. And watching stuff like speed paints or what have you also don't help. I think I just don't have a very strong brain for arts, lmao. :iconrejectedonionplz:

Idk. Arting is hard. :iconpetrifiedplz:

What version of ps do you use? :0 i've never really liked ps actually xD i find it a lot less easy to work with! compared to programs more used for art like SAI :)

and like.. wow you have no idea how perfectly you described my own art journey xD a lot of times when people say they love my art, i feel super happy but when i try to replicate it, it always fails >< (if my art seems a bit consistent, it's largely cuz i actually never upload these "failures" of mine :s)

as for tutorials, i never actually follow them xD what i do instead is take bits of advice and try them. sometimes the results are awful and i'll dump the technique immediately and sometimes if i find it too tedious, i'll also just drop it. experimenting helps a lot! find techniques that you find fun and try them and suit them to your own style of drawing :D same with livestreams! i find livestreams helpful because you actually see how the process goes! and from there you can sort of pick up tips to alter your own original style (like if you used to shade with brush opacity 10% but you see nice results with someone who varies their brush opacity, you could pick that up and start using that instead but still keep your other settings like layer settings etc)

Whoops, i just babbled a whole ton, i apologise ^^; but art really is very tough >< takes tons of practice and a whoollleeeee lot of experimenting! keep at it and you'll make it through :D
